Vomiting and diarrhea

There may be many reasons why a dog gets vomiting and diarrhea. Some are more serious than others and require veterinary treatment. If vomiting and diarrhea last more than a few days, there is always reason to take it seriously, especially if the general condition of the animal is impaired. The veterinarian should be sought to find out what is the reason for the condition.

An uncomplicated round of diarrhea and vomiting may for example be caused by viruses, ingestion of spoiled food or sudden yields, and are usually not dangerous. The condition often targets itself, but there are several measures that will help the dog or cat to get back into shape sooner. An adult dog may be fasted 12-24 hours (but of course do not remove the water!) Before putting on a diet of gentle diet. Puppies and cats should preferably not be fastened. The gentle feed should be given in several small portions during the day, preferably four to five servings, and the animal must always have access to ample amounts of fresh water. It is important not to provide any other food during this period. Abrupt abandonment in itself can give loose stomach.

Vitality Innovation aims to reduce antibiotic use and has therefore developed DogVitality for gastrointestinal tract to ease diarrhea problems. This helps the bowel to recover quickly. The product contains ingredients that inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria (disease-causing bacteria), and that helps the normal flora to rapidly balance. If the diarrhea lasts for a long time, a veterinarian should be able to investigate the dog and take a feces test that is being analyzed for parasites.

Skin ailments
The skin is the most visible body on the body! It is therefore much easier to see even small changes here compared to internal organs.

Skin and coat are lost daily in moderate amounts such as dandruff and hair. It is part of the natural protection of the body. That way, substances / bacteria / contamination that comes on the skin will be removed with dead skin. The skin is considered the first and perhaps largest immune barrier on the body. The skin protects internal organs by direct physical protection of underlying structures and also protects against fluid and electrolyte loss. Pigment cells in the skin protect the skin against radiation damage from the sun and the fur screens in addition to radiation and cold.

The skin is in control of body temperature. 50% of hair follicles are in active growth / loss phase in summer, while only 10% are in winter. This is to prevent massive hair loss and thus heat loss in winter. Especially pronounced this is the longer north one comes. In southern Europe, there is not such a distinct seasonal variation in hair loss.

Hair is 95% protein and growth of skin and hair requires 25-30% of the animal’s daily protein needs. It is therefore natural that in case of illness or bad nutrition, skin and coat will suffer.

The most common causes of people looking for a veterinarian due to a skin problem are itching with or without dandruff, wet eczema, ear infections and pancreas
Itching can be caused by parasites, allergies and inflammation.

Allergy in dogs. Atopy.
Allergy is one of the common underlying causes of skin and ear problems in dogs and cats. One can develop allergy to something in the food or something in the environment. Food allergy / intolerance is usually seen against proteins but can also occur against carbohydrates and additives in the feed. Atopy (allergy to something in the environment) is usually seen against dust dust, storage medium and / or pollen.

Allergy is one of the common underlying causes of skin and ear problems in dogs and cats. One can develop allergy to something in the food or something in the environment. Food allergy / intolerance is usually seen against proteins but can also occur against carbohydrates and additives in the lining. Atopy (allergy to something in the environment) is usually seen against dust dust, storage medium and / or pollen.

The typical allergic dog has itch on one or more places on the body ie in the face, on the labs, in the ears, on the stomach, in the armpits and at the rectum. It is rare for an allergy to scratch his back alone. In these areas, the skin often becomes red or pigmented, the coat may become discolored due to enzymes in the spit, and the skin may become sore and inflamed because fungi and bacteria thrive and reproduce here. Immune defenses in the skin of allergic dogs are worse than in normal dogs and the bacteria attach more easily to the skin cells of allergic animals. Bacterial and fungal infections will enhance the itching and make the situation worse. Many allergic dogs easily get ear infections. In some animals, frequent ear infections are the only symptom of having an allergy.
